programme themes and activities
Drawing on experience of blance acrobatics, contemporary dance, aerial work, harness and suspensions, the programme encourages children to enjoy organised movement with:
touch: integral to a child's development, the programe uses touch to create a safe territory from which the children can allow their curiosity to explore the world and develop their capacity for learning.
imitation: a useful tool for children to learn social rules and integrations plus practical actions and patterns
imagination: via transforming ordinary objects into something else, children use fantasy to accomodate the world to their own desires
choice: from broadening children's knowledge, through actively encouraging them to experience a wide variety of stimuli, comes the child's ability to choose
ground: through a number of games and exercises children explore the ground as an inviting place and territory of new discoveries. The programme also focuses on children's natural flexibility and strength.
suspension: brings a sate of non-gravity similar to water and can awaken deeply rooted memories and a sense of freedom. The suspension work is exhilarating, brings co-ordination, capacity to place the body in space without clumsiness and positive energy that fertilises the capacity to learn. Together with the ground work, it brings a fantastic sense of internal and external well-being.
