
Yoga for pregnancy is a yoga class specially designed to help you prepare for labour, birth and motherhood, whilst enhancing your health, self confidence and sense of well being during your pregnancy. Pregnancy is a transitional time for women, when many physical & emotional changes take place. Pre-natal yoga helps support you through these changes in mind and body as well as nurturing your growing baby.
We share information and knowledge to support you through your pregnancy and prepare you for birth including diet and nutrition and stress management advice to help you enjoy this time of change.
Who can attend?
You can start attending pre-natal yoga classes after 12 weeks of pregnancy and we recommend that you attend once a week throughout your pregnancy from then. All expectant mothers can greatly benefit from the practice of yoga during pregnancy – not only during pregnancy but in preparation for birth as well.
Benefits of yoga for pregnancyPostures and breathing help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, keeping the body flexible, while finding focus through the breath connects mother and baby and prepares for a healthy, mindful, natural approach to the challenges of labor and birth. Practising deep relaxation also encourage a peaceful, calm state during your pregnancy.
